International women’s day 2020
March 12, 2020
At the 2020 International Women’s Day gathering organised by the Dutch government I addressed the need for genuine diverse and inclusive leadership, making an appeal for more feminine leadership throughout all layers of public and private organisations. Stressing the need for authentic leadership, and need for ecosystems that allow individuals to manoeuvre and grow freely whilst embracing one’s uncompromised identity.
In my speech I also raised awareness for the immensely large group of undocumented children worldwide, facing a life of social exclusion simply because they do not have a legal identity. At only 3hrs from The Hague by plane, a humanitarian crisis is taking place on the island of Lesbos. In my speech I urged The Netherlands to act in line with other European member states and grant refugee children who are left without any family members safety and a chance to change their future narratives.
