MFA Coalitions for Impact MENA Focus Countries – launch

Dutch Minister of Foreign Trade & Development, Sigrid Kaag, distinguished 3 focus countries in the MENA region in her policy note ‘Investing in Global Prospects’. In order to intensify multilateral, cross-sectoral investments and collaborations a multistakeholder meeting was organised. During this initial gathering public, private, NGO’s, social impact investors and philanthropists shared insights and ambitions to explore potential unexpected coalitions. Minister Kaag gave a keynote speech during which she shared her vision on the envisioned intensified public-private joint efforts between NL and the focus countries Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon. Excellencies Ambassadors Barbara Joziasse, Jan Waltmans and Matthijs Wolters shared their in-depth knowledge of the respective local-contexts during 3 country sessions.
My involvement in the project covered the evaluation and selection of the decision-making level participants, briefing of the respective country Ambassadors, liaising between the MFA and selected delegates, presenting a recap and forecast of the Coalitions for Impact project plan during the gathering on Jan 29th and proposal advice for further development of the Coalitions for Impact and FocusLabs trajectory.
